It was yet again a beautiful Indian summer day on the 3rd of October. I cycled to Anzing about 11 km away. I picked up my number and set for my warm up routine around the track, with small footing and ABC. At 10 the start was given to over 400 people. I started near the front with two objectives, do not start too fast and stay behind Tommy. I managed to stay with him till km 4 or so, but his pace was slightly too high for me. I did not panicked and settled in another pace but keeping always the same distance or gap to Tom. After km 7 I even started to get back a bit, and always running around 4 min. At km 8 I decide to accelerate a little to drop the two people with me till then because I wanted to avoid a sprint to the line. I finished strong, detached and only 17 seconds down on Tom this time. And the best is under 40min, finally to a proud 39.30!!! Nice way to end the season, next is the Munich Marathon, then I can rest!
